NATIONAL AWARDS AND NOMINATION GUIDE
This guide outlines all awards significant to the Delta Zeta experience – both from an individual and chapter experience as well as a collegiate and alumna experience. On the following pages you will find the award description, history of each award, who should apply and a list of past recipients. This guide is intended for all members – both collegiate and alumnae.
DELTA ZETA CHAPTER AND INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
Delta Zeta honors and recognizes chapter and member achievements annually through our national awards program. Awards are given to those that exemplify our shared values of “friendship, curiosity, generosity, community, empowerment and belonging”. All nominations are submitted through our online program, SmarterSelect.
Any alumna member may nominate herself or another member for an individual award. Winners will be announced in the summer and presented at Convention. In non-Convention years, award recipients will also be announced in the summer.
AWARD NOMINATION TIPS AND BEST PRACTICES
Before submitting an award nomination –
Collaborate with chapter and alumnae members to determine your timeline and process for submitting awards.
Visit SmarterSelect and view the award applications to determine what materials/information you will need to gather before you begin.
Carefully review the criteria for each award and verify that your nominee or chapter is a strong candidate.
Encourage several members to read your nomination before submitting it.
Remember the award application due date.
Pat yourself on the back and celebrate your successes!
