Description

This award shall be presented to an outstanding large alumnae chapter that has excelled in creating an outstanding chapter culture and member experience.

History

Myrtle Graeter Hinkly (1933)

The Myrtle Graeter Hinkly Council Award, a gift from Texas Delta Zetas, was established as a traveling trophy in tribute to Myrtle’s years of service to Delta Zeta. An initiate of Delta Chapter at DePauw University in Indiana, Myrtle was a longtime resident of Texas. She served Delta Zeta as National Registrar from 1922-1924, National Treasurer from 1924-1926 and National President from 1930-1934 and again from 1938-1940. At the 1993 National Convention in Scottsdale, Arizona, Myrtle and Jean Coleman Lisle, Alpha, (Julia Bishop's daughter)  presented The Founders' portrait, which hangs in the Founders Parlor at National Headquarters.
